Rebuilding Smiles in Maddington
Having a damaged, cracked or decaying tooth impacts more than your ability to smile. It can make it difficult to have a balanced diet or even talk to other people. Maddington families know that Go Dental Surgery has your best interest at heart, no matter what your smile has been through.
Full Coverage Crowns
When a tooth has had a very large filling or more than half of it is at risk of fracturing, a new filling simply won’t do. A clenching or grinding habit could put the tooth at an even higher risk of fracture.
Repairing your tooth with a crown (cap) can protect it from future cracking or untimely loss. Crowns are similar to putting a helmet over the tooth so that it does not succumb to excessive pressure. They can also be placed on top of dental implants to replace a single missing tooth.
Fixed Dental Bridges
A bridge can replace one or two missing teeth while allowing you to retain normal biting function and a beautiful smile. They can be bonded over natural teeth or implants adjacent to the open space.
Bridges are anchored permanently into place. They can serve a dual purpose by protecting the adjacent teeth if they have large fillings and are in need of crowns. However, it is important that you should be conscientious of cleaning under your bridge daily to avoid recurrent decay or disease.
Dental Implants
Of course, it’s ideal to maintain your teeth for a lifetime. That’s not always possible, however. If you have one or multiple missing teeth, replacing them is crucial to your overall health as well as the health of your other teeth. A dental implant is a metal post that replaces the root portion of a missing tooth. Placed into the jawbone, an implant is allowed to fuse with the bone over a few-month period. The function of this “artificial tooth root” is to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are long-lasting, making them an excellent investment!
Denture Options
A cost-effective alternative to implants is a removable full or partial denture. With dentures, you can continue to chew properly and smile with confidence.
We offer a variety of denture designs, including a Valplast® hybrid that is ideal for maximum aesthetics (no metal is used). Acrylic is still the preferred material of choice for full dentures. Be sure to ask about our implant-secured option as well.
Inlays and Onlays
These alternative restorations are a good option when a large filling may not provide the essential reinforcement to your tooth. Inlays and onlays come in tooth-coloured options that preserve certain levels of tooth damage without the need of a full coverage crown.
